Imphal: In the last 24 hours leading up to 5 pm of Wednesday in Manipur, a 47-year-old male resident of Chandel expired at Shija Hospital. During the same period, 9 persons from the general population (6 males, 3 females) tested positive as per an official release from the Covid-19 Common Control Room.
Among the 9 positive persons, 2 each are from Imphal, West, Thoubal and Churachandpur and 1 each from Imphal East, Bishnupur and Chandel. All the necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing have been put in place.
Meanwhile, 9 persons were discharged after their recovery, 7 of them from Home Isolation and 1 each from RIMS and SHRI.
The cumulative number of positive cases is 29,086 (General Population — 25,661 and Central Security Personnel — 3,425). The cumulative number of recovered cases (after reconciliation with date from IDSP, Home Isolation, Covid Care Centres Team and Death Committee Report as on February3) is 28,603 (General Population — 25, 193 and Central Security Personnel — 3,410). The number of active cases (after reconciliation with date from IDSP, Home Isolation, Covid Care Centres Team and Death Committee Report as on February3) is 111 (general population 100 and CAPF 11). The recovery rate is 98.33%, the release added.
