Kolasib: Meeting of the District Fire Prevention Commitee, Kolasib district was held Monday at DC Conference Hall, scrutinizing reports submitted from all villages VC, YMA, Forest department officials and respective BDO in which Thingthelh Village was awarded the best village for their contribution towards the prevention of forest and domestic fire outbreak.
The award carries a citation and cash prize of Rs.50,000. Khamrang village secured second position and N.Chhimluang Village sits at third position.
According to reports submitted by Kolasib DFO N.Viji, IFS, there was 361 fire incidents report covering a total area of 323.71 Hectare.
