Imphal: In pursuance of the Manipur government’s “War against drugs”, a joint team of Kangpokpi district police consisting of Addl SP (Ops) Kangpokpi, DSP Kangpokpi as well as of NAB, NCB Imphal, Forest Department of Kangpokpi, Bishnupur, Noney, SDO Kangchup-Geljang conducted another illegal poppy destruction drive at Longa Koireng, S Laijang, Sehjang and Khoripok Hill Range under New Keithelmanbi Police Station on January 29-30, 2021.
The poppy destruction drive was conducted under the supervision of PG Singsit, SP Kangpokpi
About 30 acres of the area growing illegal poppy plants have been destroyed.
The poppy cultivating hill range is about 20 km West of New Keithelmanbi police station.
One FIR has been taken up at New Keithelmanbi police station regarding the matter, said a press note from the PRO, Manipur Police, W Basu.
