Imphal: A combined team of District Police Ukhrul, NAB, 6 MR and the Forest department carried out the destruction of the poppy plantation from January 4-6, 2023.
During the drive, about 30 acres of poppy plantation in Tangkhul Hundung village ( Mapithel hill range) and about 50 acres of poppy plantation in Khamason (Sihai hill range) were destroyed.
A regular case has been registered at Litan and Ukhrul Police stations. Efforts are being made to identify and arrest the poppy planters and the land owners said a press note issued by the PRO, Manipur Police.
