7,793 get government jobs in Sikkim

Gangtok: Sikkim has started a system to conduct direct recruitment to fill up the vacancies in the government, Chief Minister P S Tamang said on Wednesday, adding that 7,793 youths holding employment cards have secured jobs.

The Chief Minister was answering a question from BJP MLA D R Thapa in the Assembly.

He said that 77,912 Employment Cards were issued and of these 7,793 card holders had got government jobs and 34,097 temporary jobs.

“We have to work together to find a solution for addressing the issue within the state,” he said, referring to the issue of unemployment.
