Shillong: Altogether 227 recruits were inducted as soldiers of the 58 Gorkha Training Centre at an attestation parade on Saturday here in Meghalaya.
The passing out parade of the 192nd Recruit Training Batch of 58 Gorkha Training Centre was held at Harish Parade Ground, Happy Valley, Shillong.
The parade marks the culmination of rigorous recruit training and completes the transformation of a determined recruit into a young soldier of the Indian Army.
Colonel Vibhu Vashishtha, Officiating Commandant, 58 Gorkha Training Centre reviewed the parade under strict observation of COVID-19 protocols.
Recruit Bom Bahadur Somai was awarded the Overall Best Recruit & Best Recruit of 5 Gorkha Rifles (FF) and Recruit Dipesh Rana Magar was awarded Best Recruit of 8 Gorkha Rifles.
