Imphal: The Central Forest Division, Forest Department Manipur, successfully conducted a 3-Day Capacity Building Workshop on Hospitality, Wildlife Tourism & Nature CampManagement from 26th to 28th March 2026 at Shilheipung Garden under the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) Scheme.
The workshop was organized with the objective of enhancing skills and knowledge related to eco-tourism, hospitality management, and sustainable nature-based enterprises.
The programme was attended by Vikram Nadhe, Divisional Forest Officer, Central Forest Division, along with Aquib Jamal, Assistant Conservator of Forests and David Singh, Range forest officer, Sawombung forest range. Experts from Wildlife Explorers, Brajesh Khoyumthem, Premjith etc., also participated and shared their expertise on wildlife tourism and nature camp management.
Addressing the participants, Vikram Nadhe emphasized that forests are not only ecologicalassets but also significant employment generators. He highlighted the immense potential of tourism, particularly eco and nature-based tourism, in creating sustainable livelihood opportunities for local communities, especially for the youth.
During the three-day programme, various arenas of tourism potential were discussed, including eco-tourism, wildlife tourism, and adventure tourism. Participants were provided practical insights and hands-on guidance on nature camp management, visitor handling, and developing tourism-based enterprises aligned with conservation principles.
The workshop served as a platform for knowledge exchange and capacity building, encouraging participants to explore sustainable and eco-friendly livelihood opportunities under the RAMP Scheme.
The Central Forest Division reaffirmed its commitment to promoting conservation-linked livelihoods and strengthening local capacity through such initiatives. The central forest division expressed appreciation to the experts for the insights they provided.
