Gangtok: Three police personnel died and six others were injured when their vehicle skidded off the road and fell 300 feet below in North Sikkim district, officials said on Thursday.
The mishap occurred at Dzongu valley on Wednesday when the police personnel were escorting a suspect in a taxi from Mantam to Mangan.
All the injured including the driver have been admitted to hospitals at Mangan and Gangtok.
The bodies of the deceased police personnel were handed to their respective families.
In a separate incident, a worker of a pharmaceutical factory was killed and three others sustained injury when a shooting boulder hit the company bus they were travelling in around Wednesday-Thursday midnight in South Sikkim district, officials said.
Heavy rainfall and consequent landslide had caused the shooting boulders.
