199 Sikkim blocks celebrated Meri Mati Mera Desh: CM

CM was happy to see an unprecedented gathering at the program organized exclusively to celebrate the glorious history of the nation, including the martyrs, those still dedicated to defending the borders & revering them, thanking mother nature planting saplings, pledging integrity & protect honor of the country, saluting the land, its soil,' added Tamang.

Gangtok: Sikkim Chief Minister PS Tamang, highlighting the ‘Meri Mati Mera Desh’ campaign, said it has been observed at all levels across the State.


‘Silaphalakam, the ‘ Memorials in the honor of Veers (gallant) ‘ have been installed in 199 Gram Panchayats,33 blocks,7 urban local bodies, and 91 Government Senior Secondary Schools in Sikkim. Extending it to private schools is taking place, it will be something unique to our State.,’ said CM.

CM recollected, having personally participated in Dandi March in Sabarmati in 2021 led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who also inaugurated Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav..celebrations preceding the 75th anniversary of the country’s Independence.


He expressed gratitude towards the PM for the ‘Sabka Sath Sabka Vikas’, policy. And his determination for the progress of the entire nation.CM himself could keep Sikkim free of exploitation, and started reshaping, creating with the result under his Government of Four and a half year State is flourishing!
Earlier, Chief Secretary delivered a talk on ‘Meri Mati Mera Desh’.Documentaries by Information & Public Relations Department on the Campaign were screened.
