15th Shaheed Manoranjan Singh Memorial CRPF Football Tournament set to begin

Imphal: The 69th Bn CRPF, Mantripukhri, under the aegis of the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Manipur & Nagaland, CRPF, is set to host the 15th Shaheed Manoranjan Singh Memorial State Open Football Tournament from February 3 to February 15, 2025, at the Artificial Turf, Takyel, SAI Sports Complex, Imphal. 

The tournament is being organized in close collaboration with the Imphal West District Football Association (IWDFA) and the All Manipur Football Association (AMFA).

This prestigious tournament is held annually in honor of Shaheed Manoranjan Singh, Assistant Commandant CRPF, a native of Yurembam Makha Leikai, Imphal, the only son of late Ng. Budhachandra and Ng. Memcha who made the supreme sacrifice while fighting Naxalites in Chhattisgarh in 2009. Since 2010, CRPF has been organizing this tournament to commemorate his legacy and promote football in Manipur.

The tournament will feature 16 top teams from Manipur, conducting on knockout basis. The tournament winner will receive Rs. 3,00,000 along with a trophy, while the runners-up will be awarded Rs. 2,00,000 and a trophy. Individual awards include Rs. 10,000 and a trophy each for the Highest Goal Scorer, Best Goalkeeper, Best Player of the Tournament, and Man of the Final Match. 

To support participating teams, a travel allowance of Rs. 3,000 per match will be provided to Imphal-based clubs, while clubs from outside Imphal will receive Rs. 5,000 per match. Teams will be responsible for their own drinking water arrangements during the tournament.
