Manipur: Class X exam begins tomorrow; Education Minister Th Basanta wishes students

Imphal: The Board of Secondary Education, Manipur (BOSEM) is set to commence its Class X, 2024, from March 15 onwards and will continue till 8 April, 2024.

In all, 37,715 students including 19087 male, and 18628 female students will participate across 154 exam centres, a top official of the BOSEM told The North East Affairs on Thursday.

Akham Joykumar Singh, Chairman of BOSEM said, his Board has already appointed 25 inspection teams comprising government officials and private institutions in the valley. Whereas, three or four inspection teams comprising DC/ADC officials and ZEO staff and teachers will conduct inspections in the hill areas, where there are 63 exam centres.

For the first time, Joykumar said, all confidential materials are kept safely in designated police stations with two sets of locks and keys: one key with the concerned police OC and one with the Centre OC.

During the dispatch of confidential materials in hilly and remote areas, security escort is provided by the government. Full security arrangement and CrPC section 144 are imposed in and around the close perimeter of each exam centre, he added.  

Moreover, a control room is open under one senior officer of BOSEM to clarify/solve issues and problems that arise during the examination. 

Eleven nodal officers for hill districts have been appointed to supervise the conduct of the exam. The nodal officer and his or her subordinates will manage and supervise with the help of ZEO, Centre OC, AOC, SO and Inspection Teams, the official said.

The Education Minister of Manipur, Th Basanta Kumar Singh extended his best wishes to all the students who are appearing in the ensuing Class X examination 2024 conducted by the Board of Secondary Education, Manipur.

In his message, he encouraged all students to stay focused and continue to work hard. Reminding that hard work and dedication will pay off in the end, he assured the full support of the Department of Education.

Basanta Kumar also expressed his sincere appreciation for the hard work and dedication the teachers have shown throughout the academic year. “Your tireless efforts have helped to prepare the students for this important milestone, and we are grateful for your valuable contributions”  he added.
