Hyderabad: NALSAR University of Law represented by its Registrar Prof V Balakista Reddy has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Ahimsa Fellowship for India’s first Fellowship program in animal welfare, a release here said on Friday.
The program is essentially a comprehensive nine-month animal welfare advocacy training program designed to bolster the capacity of young individuals.
The curriculum of the program has been curated with inputs from leading experts in the field of animal welfare, public policy and the social sector.
Ahimsa Fellowship is powered under the leadership of People For Animals (PFA). It is supported by reputed social sector organizations & premier educational institutes like Ahimsa Trust, Kaivalya Educational Foundation, Humane Society International-India, Mercy For Animals India Foundation and Miranda House College, University of Delhi.
The Fellowship was launched in 2021 with 16 Fellows graduating in the first cohort. The second cohort of the Fellowship commenced on November 1 with a batch of 21 Ahimsa Fellows after selected carefully to carry forward the program’s mandate of animal protection in India.
Orientation and contact classes for the second cohort is underway at NALSAR University of Law at Shamirpet here and will conclude on November 10.
