Three more deaths Monday, Manipur’s cumulative toll now 224

Imphal: In the last 24 hours leading up to 4 pm of Monday, three persons expired due to Covid -19 in Manipur taking the state’s cumulative death toll due to the pandemic to 224. The dead include a 59-year-old and a 90-year-old male both hailing from Imphal West and a 64-year-old male resident of Churachandpur. All three of them expired at RIMS Hospital as per an official release from the Covid-19 common Control Room.

During the same period, 178 persons (101M, 77F) from the general population were confirmed as new Covid -19 positive cases.

The total number of discharged persons is 239. They are from CAPF (0), Home Isolation (166, 178 persons (101M, 77F) from the general population were confirmed as new COVIDI9 positive cases. All of them are locals with no significant travel history.

In all 69 of the positive cases from the general population are from Imphal West, 46 from Imphal East, 19 from Kakching, 9 each from Chandel and Bishnupur, 8 each from Thoubal and Tamenglong, 6 from Churachandpur, 2 from Noney and 1 each from Tengnoupal and Senapati.

Meanwhile, 239 persons were discharged from various CCCs of the state. These include 166 from Home Isolation, 21 from RIMS, 14 from UNACCO, TK Ukhrul 9, 6 from RD Wing, 5 each from LKK and Bal Bhavan, 4 from Lamding, 3 each from Kangpokpi and Bishnupur and 1 each from Kamjong,  Sadbhavna and Lanva.

The cumulative number of positive cases is 22,049 (General Population – 19,141 and Central Security Personnel – 2,908). The cumulative number of recovered cases is 18,832 (General Population – 16,180 and Central Security Personnel – 2,652). The cumulative number of active cases is 2993 (General Population – 2,741 and Central Security Personnel – 252). The recovery rate is 85.40 %, the release added.
