One more succumbs, 188 test positive, 189 recover in Manipur Friday

Imphal: A 58-year-old male, resident of Thoubal district, expired due to Covid-19 at  Shija Hospital on Friday in Manipur taking cumulative fatality tally in the state to 232. Meanwhile, 188 persons (109M, 79F) from the general population and 12 personnel from Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) tested positive in the last 24 hours leading to 4 pm of Friday as per an official release from the Covid-19 Common Control Room.

 Of the 188 persons who tested positive from the general population, 114 are from Imphal West, 22 from Imphal East, 16 from Tamenglong, 11 from Thoubal, 7 from Kamjong, 6 from Bishnupur, 5 from Kangpokpi, 2 each from Churachandpur and Senapati and 1 each from Kakching, Tengnoupal and Ukhrul. All of them are locals with no significant travel history.

During the same period, 189 persons were discharged from various CCCs of the state and home Isolation. These include 119 from Home Isolation, 11 each form Lanva and UNACCO, 10 each from LKK and Bal Bhavan,  9 from PR Kakching, 7 from RD Wing, 3 each from TK Ukhrul and Thoubal, 2 each from CAPF and JNV Chandel and 1 each from Tamenglong and Jiribam.

The cumulative number of positive cases is 22,748 (General Population – 19,818 and Central Security Personnel – 2,930). The cumulative number of recovered cases is 19,620 (General Population – 16,900 and Central Security Personnel – 2.720). The number of active cases is 2,896 (General Population – 2,690 and Central Security Personnel – 206). The recovery rate is 86.24%, the release added.
