Manipur: No death Thursday, 229 test positive, 172 recover  

The cumulative number of active cases is 2,886 (General Population – 2,690 and Central Security Personnel – 196). The recovery rate is 86.17%, the release added.

Imphal: In the past 24 hours leading up to 4 pm on Thursday, there has been no report of any death due to Covid-19 in Manipur.

During this period, however, 229 persons from the general public which include 95 from the Targeted Testing in Wangoi Assembly Constituency and 1 personnel from Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) were also confirmed as new COVID19 positive case, said an official release from the Covid-19 Common Control Room.

Of the 229 from the general public which tested positive, 142 of them are from Imphal West, 23 from Imphal East, 20 from Bishnupur 14 from Thoubal, 10 of them are from Kakching, 8 from Churachandpur, 5 from Tamenglong, 2 from Jiribam and 1 from Kangpokpi. All of them are locals with no significant travel history.

Meanwhile, 172 recovered and were discharged from various CCCs and Home Isolation.  These include 79 from Home Isolation, 22 from RIMS, 21 from PR Kakaching, 15 from CAPF, 13 from UNACCO, 11 from LKK, 3 each from Thoubal and Bishnupur, 2 each from TK Ukhrul and Sadbhavna and from Jiribam.

The cumulative number of positive cases is 22,548 (General Population – 19,630 and Central Security Personnel – 2,918). The cumulative number of recovered cases is 19,431 (General Population – 16,713 and Central Security Personnel – 2,718). The cumulative number of active cases is 2,886 (General Population – 2,690 and Central Security Personnel – 196). The recovery rate is 86.17%, the release added.
