198 recoveries, 222 positive cases, three more deaths in Manipur

Imphal: In the, last 24 hours leading up to 4 pm of Sunday, three persons expired due to Covid-19 taking the cumulative death due to the pandemic in Manipur to 91. One 64 year old female resident of Imphal West died at RIMS, another 70 year old female resident of Churachandpur expired at home, while a 87 year old male resident of Imphal East died at JNIMS, as per a press note released by the Covid-19 Control Room.

During the same period, 222 persons from general population and 12 personnel from Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) tested Covid-19 positive. 119 of these positive persons from the general population are locals with not travel history.

One-hundred-thirty-two (132) out of 222 positive persons from the local population are from Imphal West, 37 are from Imphal East, 14 are from Churachandpur, 12 from Bishnupur, 8 from Tamenglong, 7 from Thoubal — 7, 3 from Kakching, 2 each from Jiribam, Tengoupal and Ukhrul and 1 each from Kangpokpi, Noney  and Senapati. They are being shifted to the Covid Care facilities. All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.

Meanwhile, 198 persons were discharged from various CCCs of the state. These include, 51 from Lamboikhongnangkhong, 45 from Home Isolation, 29 from UNACCO, 20 from Bishnupur, 10 each from Chandel, Thoubal, 9 from Jiribam, 5 from CCC Lamding, 3 each from Ukhrul, Moreh and Senapati, 2 each from JNIMS and Noney and 1 each from CAPF and PR Kakching.

The cumulative number of positive cases is 13,326 (General Population – 10,790 and Central Security Personnel – 2,536). The cumulative number of recovered cases is 10,504 (General Population – 8,327 and Central Security Personnel – 2,177). The number of active cases is 2731 (General Population – 2,376 and Central Security Personnel – 355). The recovery rate is 78.82%, added the press note.
